Dining – Stratland Estates is located in the heart of the Gilbert suburbs. With this excellent location anyone can find exactly what they’re craving within just a few miles. One spot we thought you might like to try is Brio Tuscan Grille located in San Tan Village just 1.6 miles away. They have a wide variety of Italian dishes on their menu with an elegant atmosphere to help you unwind after a long day. Chef Gustavo takes pride in his creations and makes it a point to visit with his clientele during the evening to make sure everyone is content. Gelato – In recent posts we’ve chosen to reserve this spot for coffee shops. However, with the 110 degree weather that we’re having this week we thought that a much cooler treat might sound a little more delightful. Frost Gelato Shoppe will surly satisfy in the most gruling Arizona summer temperatures. Stop on by for some authentic Italian gelato recipes to help cool you down on a hot summer day. They have a wide variety of flavors and lots and lots of air conditioning to keep you frosty while you sit and enjoy your summer treat. Grocery – Fry’s Food Store is the largest grocery store located by the house at just 0.8 miles away. Known for their low prices, Fry’s will not disappoint at the cash register nor with their huge selection of foods. Did we mention this house has a pool? Fuel Up – with such easy access to the freeway you’re going to want to get out and explore. Once again, Quick Trip is the gas/convenience store of choice for this particular location. Arizona has a reputation of being a desolate wasteland of cactus, rattlesnakes and temperatures that resemble that of the surface of the sun. This is simply not the case – at least not the entire state anyway! Fact – “Arizona has the largest contiguous stand of ponderosa pines in the world stretching from near Flagstaff along the Mogollon Rim to the White Mountains region.”
This means there are endless trails throughout these forests just waiting for you to discover. Whether you only have time for a short day trip or you stay the night and camp, escaping to the high country is the perfect way to enjoy your time during an Arizona summer. Located at 7th Street and Osborn right in the heart of midtown Phoenix. With easy access to the light rail this is the perfect location for getting around town and exploring without having to go too far out of your way to find what you want. New Hot Spot – Hungry for a little twist on a traditional Mexican dish? Taco Guild is sure to delight with it’s culinary mix of old world recipes with new world style. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to please all south of the border taste buds and with $5 happy hour margaritas you can’t go wrong! Dine in awe under vaulted ceilings of the old Bethel Church constructed in 1893. It’s hard not to look around while waiting for your food and admire all of the beautiful craftsmanship that went into the construction of this historic building. Located just 0.2 miles from your loft you must stop by for at least one margarita! 546 E Osborn Rd.
Morning Fix – Just a few steps out your door and you are there! Urban Beans is a delightful coffee shop with a friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and menu of beverages and baked goods that will certainly jump start your day. This too is only 0.2 miles from your comfy bed. So roll out, slip on your flip flops and follow that bean brewing aroma…you can’t miss it! 3508 N. 7th Street.
Grocery List – If you prefer to stay in and cook you will need to shop for food first! Safeway is the closet large grocery store located just 1.1 miles from the Artisan Lofts. Known as one of the largest chains in the country you can pretty much find anything you’re looking for in this store. With it’s friendly staff and large selection you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure you follow that list of yours! It’s hard to get distracted and leave with your wants instead of needs! 520 W Osborn Rd.
Fuel Up – Although the light rail is very close to the loft it can’t take you everywhere. If you need to get on the road you will need to fuel up. Being in midtown you could probably throw a rock in any direction and find a gas station. Due to the fact that this is a highly populated area we would suggest NOT doing that and topping off at QuikTrip instead. Just 1.1 miles away this is the closet fuel stop and convenience store. You are always greeted with a friendly smile and a genuine hello. Coffee, food, refreshments, you name it, they probably have it. This is your one stop shop before hitting the road, just don’t forget to pay before you pump! 321 W Indian School Rd.

This week’s property feature is our luxurious 5 bedroom, 4 bath home located at South Mountain.
Hungry? After a long day of work sometimes it’s easier just to grab a bite out and not worry about cooking and cleaning up. This property is located in an ideal spot with many restaurants nearby to choose from. Amano Bistro is a South Mountain staple offering a wide variety of Italian food and 25 different wines. Amano is a local favorite and a great place to unwind after a long day. Located just 1.1 miles from our South Mountain property you really have no excuse but to check it out! If you’re in the mood for something a little lighter try GreenMix located less than a mile from “home”. They serve fresh, healthy salads, sandwiches and wraps daily. Stop on by on your way home and take something to go or stay for a while and enjoy your meal on their open patio.
Caffeine – the closest coffee shop located within minutes of this property is Starbucks. Located at 2340 E. Baseline Road just a short 1.5 mile drive to get your boost to start your day.
Grocery – Fry’s Grocery Store is located less than a mile at 2250 E. Baseline Road. Known as one of the largest grocery store chains in Phoenix you can pretty much find everything you’re looking for here.
Exercise – If you need to get out and stretch your legs you have come to the right place. This home is located at the base of South Mountain Park. This desert park is one of the largest city parks in the country. Boasting over 16,000 acres and 51 miles of endless trails it’s hard to not get a good workout in while visiting this area. Whether your passion is hiking, mountain biking, trail running or bird watching you are sure to enjoy yourself here. Just remember to take plenty of water with you and apply sunscreen before you leave the house.

Road Warriors – I don’t know about your dad, but mine has always loved a good road trip. Make sure you have a full tank of gas, a variety of music on your playlist and good road snacks for the journey. Hop on the road and see where it leads you. While visiting Phoenix if you are interested in seeing some sights but unsure on how to get around check out the Phoenix Metro Light Rail. This 20 mile train system spans through the cities of Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. With 28 stops along the route you are sure to find ease in getting to where you would like to be. The fares are the same as a bus ticket – currently $2.00 for one ride or $4.00 for all day. The trains stop at each station every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 20-30 minutes at night and on weekends. The train cars are large, well lit and clean. They can easily accommodate wheelchairs, bikes and your luggage (if traveling to and from the airport). With convenient access to a few points of interest such as US Airways Center, Chase Field, ASU Downtown and Main campuses, Phoenix Convention Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center , and many others you will find the Phoenix Light Rail system to be a helpful guide in assisting you in finding your way around town.
When arranging your travel plans make sure you spend a little time getting to know the light rail as it may come in handy while you’re staying with us in the Valley of the Sun.
